We’ve seen a lot of political statements made at awards shows over the last couple of months, but few have been as powerful as A Tribe Called Quest’s performance with Anderson .Paak at the Grammys last night. Joined on stage by Consequence and Busta Rhymes, they had a message for everyone out there concerned with the direction US and world politics is heading: “Resist.”

Running through a blistering medley of classic cuts and new tracks from swan song album We Got It from Here… Thank You 4 Your Service, the show kicked into another gear when Consequence and Busta Rhymes joined them onstage, with Busta congratulating “President Agent Orange” on his failed Muslim ban.

We the People, from the latest album, proved to be a particularly pertinent track, speaking to the kind of hate speech that’s become part of political discourse since Trump began his march to the White House.

All you black folks, you must go
All you Mexicans, you must go
And all you poor folks, you must go
Muslims and gays, boy, we hate your ways
So all you bad folks, you must go
