UKAEA – Precinct's Goin Off: Track Premiere

Listen to a new track from techno producer UKAEA, taken from a new series of tape releases by Liverpool label Pale Master

London producer UKAEA makes up one half of techno act Gun Cleaner, but with solo release The Empire Never Ended, he takes his sound to a new level. Precinct's Goin Off is eight minutes of synapse-crushing rhythm and glitched textures, subtly interwoven until they dominate the piece, recorded in one take without overdubs.

"In this sense," Pale Master explain, "he sets up his machines to reflect, for a moment, the ephemeral nature of the sound that they produce. This sound is then fixed back into permanence through the act of recording it. These are rhythms that could only come from the algorithmic mind of a cyborg (machine + mind)."

Released on cassette (alongside equally forward-thinking collections from electronic artists EP64 and JC), UKAEA's release forms part of the label's plan to "explore the interplays between physical entities and virtual realms: to work towards a reclamation of the encoded artefact." Listen to Precinct's Goin Off in the player below.

UKAEA, EP64 and JC's cassettes are released via Pale Master on 18 Feb. UKAEA and JC play the Pale Master launch party at Don't Drop The Dumbulls, Liverpool on the release date.
