The Haxan Cloak teams up with Portland doom metallers The Body
Portland, Oregon-based extreme doom metal duo The Body, comprised of Chip King (guitar and vocals) and Lee Buford (drums and samples) released their fourth album Christ, Redeemers via Thrill Jockey last year to critical acclaim.
Now, they have announced the follow-up, I Shall Die Here, due for release on 1 April via RVNG International. For this album, they've been working with none other than multi-instrumentalist. sonic architect and doom-merchant The Haxan Cloak, aka Bobby Krlic; Tri-Angle Records mainstay and the twisted genius behind 2013's Excavation.
In a statement, the band have promised "the tried and true sound of The Body cut to pieces, mutilated by process and re-animated in a spectral state by the newly minted partnership." Here's a taster of the forthcoming album.
