NEW VIDEOS: DEATH GRIPS, RUN THE JEWELS, STEPHEN MALKMUS & THE JICKS, BLONDES, TEENGIRL FANTASY, AUSTRA, DELOREAN
One of the biggest bits of music news to land on our desk this week was the release of the new Death Grips album Government Plates – cop it here, and read our first impressions here. Here's the absolutely terrifying video for Whatever I Want (Fuck Who's Watching).

Following an unintentionally-accapella set at the recent Fun Fun Fun Festival, Atlanta rapper Killer Mike rejoins his Run The Jewels bandmate El-P and Outkast's Big Boi in the new video for Banana Clipper. Watch it over at Complex (audio only below).

Former Pavement lynchpin Stephen Malkmus (and the Jicks) have announced their new album, Wig Out at Jagbags, with the release of a new single, Lariat. The album is out on 6 January and includes customary wacky Malkmus song titles such as Cinnamon & Lesbians and The Janitor Revealed. They play Glasgow's Òran Mór on 14 January, and Manchester's Gorilla on 15 January.

Brooklyn-based house producers Blondes have a new video out, for the track Andrew, taken from their EP Swisher. It appears to be an answer to the question: 'What would happen if the T-1000 took Ecstacy?'

Staying on an electronic tip, the new video from Teengirl Fantasy – the duo are readying their Nuns EP, which drops on 25 November. The clip is directed by video artist Hans Lo.

Canadian electronic outfit Austra also have a single out on 25 November - directed by Claire Edmondson, the video is described by Austra's Kate Stelmanis: "A night-vision camera captures life in a dark park. Among the hidden corners and leaf-covered hideaways, people purge and absolve their sins through sexual liberation. We highlight a romance between a man and a woman who seek forgiveness from each-other: the only forgiveness that is of any importance." Austra play Glasgow's CCA on 21 November and Manchester's Deaf Institute on 23 November.

Finally, a new video from Spain's anthemic electro-pop maestros Delorean – Unhold features Caroline Polacheck of Chairlift on guest vocal duties.

NEW TRACKS: DAVID LYNCH, ARIEL PINK, M83, KELE, JOKER, PLANNINGTOROCK
Following the success of his sophomore album The Big Dream, David Lynch released a new 12" featuring a new track, Bad The John Boy, this week on Sacred Bones.

Ariel Pink is releasing a double album of archive recordings. Entitled Early Live Recordings, the tracks stem from the period in the late 90s and early 00s when Pink was performing under the names Gorilla, and Appleasians. It includes this cover of My Cutie, by The Shaggs.

Another soundtrack by Anthony Gonzalez, aka M83 is being released digitally this month on 19 November –his score for brother Yann Gonzalez's You and The Night (watch the trailer here). A physical release will follow in 2014.

Bloc Party's Kele Okereke is releasing a 4-track EP on 25 November, paying tribute to his love of house music. It's to be released on Crosstown Rebels. The first track to be showcased by the label is Heartbreaker.

The man who brought the pitchbent synth into dubstep, 'purple' prince Joker releases a new EP on his own Kapsize label in December. He has offered the whole thing for stream this week.

And finally, Planningtorock has unveiled a new song, Human Drama, taken from the album All Love's Legal, out in February next year. Released last week, Human Drama tackles gender equality and queer politics.

In Glasgow this weekend with Queens of the Stone Age (and Manchester on the 20th) for their gig at The Hydro (check our interview with Mr Homme right here), multi-instrumentalist Troy Van Leeuwen pulls double duties with sometime side-project Sweethead in support. To give you a taste, their new single Reverse Exorcism is available for free download today. Have a scan below.

DARKSIDE IN THE BOILER ROOM
Nicholas Jaar and Dave Harrington, aka DARKSIDE, took to the rooftops of New York City for Boiler Room last month – you can stream their set in full below. Read our interview with Jaar here.

THE ANIMATED TALES OF GWAR
A brilliant animated video now, taking on the legacy of one of the weirdest metal bands of all time – GWAR. Animators animators Myke Chillian and Tommy Meehan have been working with the band for two years to create something "appropriately disgusting and objectionable enough to most accurately represent the most dangerous band in rock and roll history," according to a press release. Gwar singer Oderus Urungus commented: "I hate cartoons… cartoons are for kids, and kids are strictly for eating. But I just might have to back up a little and say that this is the greatest cartoon ever, even if I still hate it, just because it's about US." Watch The Animated Tales of GWAR, guest starring Weird Al Yankovic, over at Funny Or Die.

MIXES: MADLIB, HUDSON MOHAWKE
Madlib guested on the Benji B show on Radio this week. The Beat Konducta and Stones Throw founder shared some rare and unreleased tracks, talked about his friend J Dilla, and dsicussed the delays to the new Madvillain album. Madlib's guest mix is here.

Glasgow's Hudson Mohawke also unveiled a new mix this week to celebrate hitting 100,000 likes on Facebook – Hud Mo 100 features rarities and exclusive edits by the producer, including tracks by Three 6 Mafia, Chris Brown, RJD2 and Usher. Cop it here

TRAILERS: DARREN ARONOFSKY'S NOAH, ANGELINA JOLIE IN MALEFICENT
Just space for a couple of trailers, both courting fans of the 'epic' – first of all there's the very short teaser trailer for Maleficent, which features an elegantly threatening Angelina Jolie as the evil queen from Disney's Sleeping Beauty. Could this be Tim Burton's return to form?

Last and, let's face it, quite possibly least, is the new project from Darren Aronofsky - but wait, don't get too excited. It's a biblical epic, Noah, starring Russel Crowe as the titular bearded animal-rescuing seafarer. If there was a prize for least realistic bible story, Noah would have to be a front-runner, but it looks like this film has managed to pack in some extra hokum and gubbins just for good measure. Whether Aronofsky's customary visual flair and bombastic directorial style can prevent this from being his own religious Waterworld remains to be seen. Have fun counting Crowe's hairstyles.
