PUSSY RIOT SINGER MOVED TO PRISON CAMP IN SIBERIA
Imprisoned Pussy Riot singer Nadezhda Tolokonnikova is thought to be missing this week, as she is transferred from a jail near Moscow to a remote prison camp in the Siberian wastes. On 7 November, the BBC reported that Tolokonnikova was transferred on 19 October, and has not been seen since 24 October. Her husband Pyotr Verzilov has requested information about her weherabouts from the Russian authorities, which the band's site states should legally be provided within 10 days of her arrival at the Siberian facility. At the time of going to press, her location remains a mystery, and concerns for her safety have been raised.

This news follows reports from September that Tolokonnikova was on hunger strike while serving her two-year sentence for 'hooliganism' following the band's public protest in a Moscow cathedral. Her hunger strike was in protest against the enforced labour and appalling conditions at the open prison in Moscow where she was previously held. While other band members have now been released, Tolokonnikova and Maria Alyokhina, seen as the band's ringleaders, remain in custody. Tolokonnikova's husband has been tweeting from Siberia as he negotiates with the Russian authorities in an attempt to locate his wife. He is protesting outside Russia's Federal Pententiary Service (FSN) with supporters. Thus far, the FSN have denied that Tolokonnikova has been delivered into their custody.

"They do not have the ability to put on the usual psychological or physical pressure they can use with inmates because of the high profile of the case," said Verzilov, speaking to The Guardian. "So they have chosen this as the punishment instead." Russian law indicates that prisoners may not speak to legal counsel or family while being transferred, a process which can take weeks.

DIZZEE RASCAL SLAMS BBC RADIO 1 PLAYLIST TACTICS
This week's biggest Twitter row involves Dizzee Rascal and BBC Radio 1 – the rapper publicly slammed the station for not playlisting his music, calling them "two-faced" and blasting their covers-driven Live Lounge show for its pointlessness, saying: "Fuck Live Lounge! If I gotta keep fighting to get my shit played why bother doing someone else's song so you can sell it on ur shitty comp!"

He has refused to back down, today tweeting: "When a station dictates your singles, gets you to do their events for free then don't support you're supposed to say something... Rinsing out some shit from 5 years ago that they didn't jump on til it went number 1 don't count. It's been a 10 year battle still ongoing." He also tweeted that American rappers get preferential treatment, saying: "When Americans get played in on radio1 they make allowances for profanity but if it's coming from the nigger down the road it's a problem!" The NME today reported that Radio 1 were "surprised and "disappointed" by Dizzee's rant.

GENERATION: 25 YEARS OF CONTEMPORARY SCOTTISH ART
Celebrating key figures and emerging talent from the last 25 years of Scottish contemporary art, GENERATION announced details of its programme this week, which will run in Glasgow at over 60 venues from March through to November next year. Conceived in 2011, the wide-ranging programme will feature the work of more than 100 Scottish artists. Delivered in partnership by National Galleries of Scotland and Glasgow Life, GENERATION is part of the Cultural Programme centred around the Commonwealth Games in 2014.

A huge list of artists have confirmed their particpation this week, including Charles Avery, Sara Barker, Karla Black, Christine Borland, Martin Boyce, Roddy Buchanan, David Shrigley, Ross Sinclair, Simon Starling, Clare Stephenson, Corin Sworn, Cathy Wilkes and Richard Wright. Sinclair, who will be re-working his 1996 piece Real Life Rocky Mountain, said that GENERATION will be about "re-animating ambitious, dynamic, long unseen works all around the country in many different spaces, all at the same time – collapsing two and a half decades of art into a richly concentrated two and a half months, but significantly, also looking to the future."

Meanwhile Lucy Skaer, who we interviewed recently, and whose work will also be featured, said of her time in Glasgow: "My experiences here cannot be untangled from the language and influence of my precedents and peers. It’s the creative fabric of the place... I've recently returned to Glasgow from 7 years of living in New York and London and I see fresh work, new ways of organising and the same unpredictable potential and cross-pollination of ideas.” Find more information about the programme here.

NETFLIX COMMISSION MORE MARVEL SUPERHERO SHOWS
In a brief report posted by culture website Vulture, rumours surfaced this week about the comissioning of 4 new Marvel superhero series by internet streaming service Netflix, who produced the award-winning web-only series House of Cards. The four heroes slated to appear in their own shows in 2015 will be Daredevil (last played on-screen by Ben 'Unpopular Batman' Affleck), Luke Cage (aka Power Man), kung-fu expert Iron Fist, and private detective Jessica Jones. The heroes will feature in individual episodes, building up to a crossover event showcasing The Defenders, a superhero team known for their acrimonious relationships. Rumours have also reached our ears about the reason for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. disappearance from UK screens last week – apparently, the ending of episode 6 ties in to the just-released Thor: The Dark World.
