St. Vincent streams 'Digital Witness' from forthcoming LP

Article by News Team | 07 Jan 2014

Annie Clark, aka St. Vincent, has unveiled a track, Digital Witness, from her forthcoming, self-titled album. Her fourth full-length outing, it follows on from her critically acclaimed collaboration with David Byrne on the album Love This Giant. According to a press release, the track "tackles identity in the era of Instagram," with Clark singing about exhibitionism and image-obsession over a loose, funky orchestrated backing.

"I knew the groove needed to be paramount," Clark commented on the album, which she has previously described as "a party record you could play at a funeral." The track will be available via iTunes and other retailers from 14 January, with the album to follow on 24 February.

We've interviewed Clark a few times over the years about her work, including naming her album Strange Mercy as our Album of the Year in 2011 – scroll down for links to our features and reviews.
