SAMAs unveil full Paisley Takeover programme

C Duncan, Kathryn Joseph, CRYSTAL, Pleasure Heads and Megan Airlie are among the artists set to perform at the Paisley festival

Once again, the Scottish Alternative Music Awards (SAMAs) will be bringing the brightest talent in the Scottish music scene to Paisley for an array of live music, workshops, seminars and spoken word, and today they've announced the full programme for the two-day event.

Scottish musicians C Duncan, Kathryn JosephSweaty PalmsMichael Timmons, CRYSTAL, Pleasure Heads and Megan Airlie will all be performing, while Paisley Arts Centre will host an In Conversation with Mogwai's Stuart Braithwaite about record label Rock Action Records, with spoken word and poetry from Chris McQueer and Leyla Josephine. Other panels include Paisley’s Cultural Community and Potential, and How To Work and Be Sustainable In the Music Business, while 23rd Precinct Music will host a special workshop giving insight to sync, licensing and royalties within music.

SAMAs founder Richy Muirhead said of the announcement: "The festival is jam packed with music events – we’re thrilled to add the likes of CRYSTAL who recently played a sold out King Tut's, Megan Airlie who won Best Acoustic at last year’s awards, author Chris McQueer and everyone else! I hope the festival brings a burst of energy to Paisley and excites music fans around the country!"
