RockNess 2010 @ Clune Farm, Dores, 11-13 Jun

Article by Paul Neeson | 16 Feb 2010

Only five years have passed since Fatboy Slim first engaged some witty word play and introduced Loch Ness to camping for the beat-loving hedonist under the banner of RockNess. However over its relatively short tenure, this fresh faced festival has gained a fine reputation. And the 2010 line-up proves why, with its patron assuming the Friday headline slot, dance kingpins Leftfield revisiting their genre-defining catalogue on Saturday, and New York’s The Strokes providing a Sunday night rock-cherry atop RockNess’ dance-flavoured cake.

Further down the bill, Friendly Fires front their finely spliced synth-and-samba indie, the über-eclectic 2 many DJs provide a party-time mash-up, and Ian Brown’s cindering, attitude-burnt sounds facilitating some down-time amidst the mayhem.

The lineup so far includes Fatboy Slim, Leftfield, The Strokes, Doves, Ian Brown, Booka Shade, The Bloody Beetroots, Vitalic, Aeroplane, Plan B, Dan Le Sac Vs Scroobius Pip, The Cuban Brothers, Dub Pistols, Japanese Popstars, Hadouken!, 2manydjs, Friendly Fires, Chase & Status, Boys Noize, Club 75 (featuring Xavier de Rosnay, DJ Mehdi, and Busy P), Annie Mac, Rob da Bank, Suspire and Lost In Audio.
