Scotland's longest-running camping music festival Knockengorroch – aka Knockengorroch World Ceilidh – will return to Galloway in the South West of Scotland this May, and today have announced the first wave of acts set to appear.

Topping the bill is performance poet Benjamin Zephaniah and the Revolutionary Minds, replacing original headliner Omar Souleyman who, according to a statement on the festival's Facebook page, "has pulled out of playing at Knockengorroch without any good reason". Other names set to appear are rapper Solareye, multi-instrumentalist Dizraeli, Highland band Elephant Sessions and Moonlight Benjamin.

Of the announcement, Knockengorroch festival organiser Liz Holmes, said: "We’re overjoyed to be hosting some of the most incredible music from across the globe, side by side with tradition and talent from Scotland. Everyone is invited to celebrate differences and shared commonalities in our very own world ceilidh in the hills!"
