Jupiter Rising x EAF: First details for 2025 revealed
Glasgow DJ and electronic artist TAAHLIAH will headline this year's Jupiter Rising x EAF, the after-dark party of live music, art and performance at Jupiter Artland
Jupiter Artland and Edinburgh Art Festival have once again teamed up to throw one of the parties of the summer. One-night-only shindig Jupiter Rising x EAF takes place on Saturday 16 August within Jupiter Artland’s stunning landscape, with an evening of experimental music, poetry and artist performance planned. “Audiences should expect the usual art-drenched chaos, late night dancing, and stunning performance in the woodlands of Jupiter,” says Kim McAleese, director of EAF25.
TAAHLIAH, Jonathan Baldock and Sacha Coward
The full Jupiter Rising x EAF lineup will be released over the coming weeks, but it's been revealed today that the extraordinary TAAHLIAH will bring the night to a close with a live solo set. The pioneering Glasgow producer and DJ featured in the inaugural Jupiter Rising Residency in 2020, and she’s set to make a glorious return to Jupiter’s woodland as this year's Jupiter Rising x EAF headliner. It's part of a busy summer for TAAHLIAH, who also headlines our Pyramid Stage takeover at Kelburn Garden Party this July.
Jupiter Rising x EAF will kick off with an on-stage conversation between artist Jonathan Baldock and writer Sacha Coward. They’ll be discussing, among other things, WYRD, Baldock’s new artwork for Jupiter Artland which will be installed in May. We’re told that with WYRD Baldock is planning to transform Jupiter’s Ballroom Gallery into a ‘zoo’ of hybrid animals formed from textile and clay, and this menagerie will be queer. Baldock’s exhibition takes inspiration from species that exhibit same-sex attraction (penguins, giraffes, crabs and elephants), and he’ll be mutating them into fantastical hybrid creatures of folklore. Coward is the author of Queer as Folklore, so should be the perfect interviewer to discover more about Balcock’s artwork exploring myth and otherness.

The festival will also include poetry and spoken work curated by Glasgow artist-led publishing project and reading series Waterwings Press, whose focus is on giving a wide range of creatives a platform to present myriad forms of writing. And of course, Jupiter Rising x EAF also gives you the opportunity to go exploring in Jupiter Artland after dark. As well as Jonathan Baldock’s WYRD, there’s also a new commission from Guy Oliver, titled Millennial Prayer, which will be open late into the evening.
