A must-attend for music industry professionals, musicians, students and aspiring artists, RESONATE aims to inform, educate and provide ample opportunity to meet and share ideas with your peers here in Scotland. Taking place at Barras Art and Design (BAaD) on 15 November in Glasgow’s East End, the event returns with a lively line-up of workshops, masterclasses, panels and drop-ins. In addition to the industry events, the day is topped off with a night of live performances with RESONATE Live!

It’s an eclectic line-up that cris-crosses genres and showcases the diversity of Scotland’s music scene. In the line-up you’ll find the psychedelic rock of Lizzie Reid, the electronica of ONR, the indie rock of Luna the Professor, the music wizardry of Makeness and the synth-led sound of singer-songwriter Carla J Easton.

Maggie Crowe, Director of Events and Charities at the British Phonographic Industry, opens RESONATE 2018 with this year’s Keynote Speech. Voted one of the top ten influential women in music by BBC’s Power Hour, alongside Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, Crowe has plenty to share from her three decades in the industry and should set RESONATE off to a compelling start.

Among the workshops on offer are Help Musicians Scotland’s Surviving in the Music Industry session, BPI’s talk on International Trade & Music Export Growth Schemes and Tileyard Education’s The A&R Sessions National Tour. There’s also Crowdfunding with Pledge Music and Emme Woods and a session on International Development called The World Is Your Stage.

In addition you’ll find Drop Ins where delegates can ‘speed-date’ with some of the best creative minds in the business, and a series of Tech Hubs concerned with the challenges facing musicians today, such as Recording on a Budget, Electronic Music Production, Accessibility + Live Mixdown, The Songwriting Workshop and Modular Synthesis.

General admission is £75, but individual tickets are available for RESONATE Live! for £7. For a full lineup and to buy tickets, head to resonatescot.co.uk
