Dave Sitek remixes 'Sea Legs' for UK redux edition of Run The Jewels

TV On The Radio guitarist and sought-after producer Dave Sitek has remixed a track by Run The Jewels, aka rappers El-P and Killer Mike. Run The Jewels, their self-titled debut album, came tenth in our Albums of the Year chart for 2013, and we had a chat with El and Mike to celebrate.

"The only thing that's old school about it is the perspective – it's a record made from that place," El-P told us. "It's a certain mode, a mode that dominated for a long time... We approached it competitively, for sure. We wanted to make sure that nobody could fuck with us. But that is what every rapper is supposed to feel like..."

Sitek's remix of Sea Legs strips the track back to minimal electronic kicks and seasick synths, adding a layer of brooding menace. The remix is taken from the forthcoming expanded edition of the album dropping on Big Dada on 13 January. The release will feature 3 new tracks, and an additional remix from Blue Sky Black Death. The original album is still available for free download via Fool's Gold.
