Remarkably, in 2019, Bros are the band on everybody's lips. The reason the Goss brothers, Matt and Luke, are back in the spotlight is thanks to the hilarious and bittersweet documentary Bros: After the Screaming Stops, which screened on the BBC over Christmas and has provided no end of entertainment online ever since.

With words of wisdom from Matt like "I made a conscious decision because of Stevie Wonder not to be superstitious" and "the letters H.O.M.E. are so important because they personify the word home", and lines from Luke like "I'm a Londoner. Embankment. Big Ben. Cab drivers," the film is the funniest, most cringeworthy film documentary about musicians since This is Spinal Tap – and of course Spinal Tap were actors being ridiculous on purpose, Bros are the real deal.

As well as being an unintentional laugh riot, the film also shows the tensions between the twin brothers, and the turbulent time they had as a band. They’ve put that all behind them, though, and will be back playing in London with a show at the Brixton Academy on 5 July. “After the phenomenal response to the Bros film we’re genuinely looking forward to a more intimate show in our home town,” said Luke Goss. “This show is going to be live, loud, up close and personal. See you there!”

The pair announced this London show this morning on Good Morning, and suggested there will be additional shows to come. “There are going to be more,” said Luke Goss on the show via satellite. “Shows in the UK and around the world.”

So watch this space for Bros’s return to Scotland, or if you fancy seeing them at the Brixton Academy, tickets go on sale Friday 18 January. If you haven’t seen Bros: After the Screaming Stops, we heartily recommend you check it out while it’s on BBC iPlayer www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer.
