Posable Action Figures are Gareth Goodlad and John Alexander, an electro-blues, pop-rock two-piece from Edinburgh. A year into their musical adventure, with a self-titled debut EP under their belts, the duo are set to release brand new single, Hummingbird, on 6 Apr.

The Skinny are delighted to be premiering the track ahead of its release – guitarist and vocalist Goodlad tells us about the song: “I wrote this about depression, anxiety, and freaky little birds that can hover on the spot.

“I wrote it for my mother who suffers from depression but still kicks ass,” he continues. “The hummingbird reference in the chorus actually comes from the way one of my friends once described her experience of anxiety to me – 'It's not like butterflies… it's more like a having a hummingbird in your stomach.'"

Drummer, sampler and backing vocalist Alexander adds: “This was a song we wrote way back and we've been playing it in our live set since our first gig a year ago. We hadn't ever planned to record it but after every show people have been telling us we should, so we've finally listened. We hope you like it!”

Hummingbird is released on 6 Apr. To celebrate, catch Posable Action Figures at Hug & Pint, Glasgow, 4 Apr; Sneaky Pete’s, Edinburgh, 6 Apr; The Tooth and Claw, Inverness, 14 Apr; The Tunnels, Aberdeen, 15 Apr; Redd Suite, Dundee, 21 Apr.
