Jamie & Shoony – Young Minds (Video Premiere)

Jamie & Shoony are an alternative hip-hop outfit who don’t mess around, and are championed for their exuberant live shows. The four-piece started out busking and have since gone on to support legendary hip-hop pioneers Sugarhill Gang and have played to sold out crowds at Glasgow’s Barrowland Ballroom alongside fellow Scottish crowd-pleasers Colonel Mustard and The Dijon 5.

Ahead of what is set to be their busiest summer yet, The Skinny are delighted to be premiering the Edinburgh outfit’s brand new video for Young Minds. Frontman Jamie Keira tells us about it: "We are very excited to team up with Scottish Bafta winner Iain Henderson for this video. The track is a tongue-in-cheek song about the fun loving mentality of only being as old as you feel.

“Everyone seemed to really love it at our live shows so we wanted to release it as a thank you. We have had phenomenal support towards our music in the past year with more and more super fans following us up and down the country. The supporters we have are our inspiration and driving force just now, with many of them getting our band logo tattooed, we feel it's our duty to keep getting better.

“We invited [some of] them to star in the Young Minds video as extras and had such a great laugh shooting it. Look out for our funny twist on The Godfather and Trainspotting."
