Aino Elina – Rukous (Video Premiere)

Following her debut single Vankina, Edinburgh-based Finnish singer-songwriter Aino Elina has released Rukous, the second single from her upcoming EP due for release in 2018. Elina's sound is an ethereal brand of electropop, complemented by Finnish lyrics. The Skinny are delighted to be premiering the video for Rukous which you can watch in the player above, or via YouTube here.

Of the song, Aino Elina tells us: "Rukous is a song about empty promises and prayers that no-one hears. The spell has been broken, magic’s gone, the true faces have been revealed, punches have been thrown. The story is a bit dark and I wanted to keep the music soft and dreamy – so I wrote this vibraphone part to lighten up the mood. I love the sound of a vibraphone. And harp! You can hear one or the other in all of my songs actually.

"The beautiful song production is by Dave Lloyd aka Dave Oscillation (Stillhound / Passmore) who I started working with this summer. He immediately got what I was going for with this song and we’re now in the process of finalising the other two songs for the EP.

"The music video is by Dale R. Murray and it was shot in the eerie Innocent Railway Tunnel in Edinburgh. The idea of the video is very simple – you’re on a journey, and there’s a light at the end of the tunnel. The slow motion and the overlapping hazy images enhance the misty dreamlike soundscape of the song."
