Hailing from south east London, 23 year old Joey Edwards, aka J F L E, has a devout DIY ethos when it comes to making music. He writes and produces all of his own work, and has made a bunch of his own music videos as well. Unashamedly bedroom-built, J F L E has spent nearly a decade developing his sound until eventually forming his quirky new project in 2014 while at university. In the beginning he gigged with just cassette tapes as a backing, but has recently formed a band to add another dimension to his live show.
Having recently won FreshBeats365's most musically innovative artist of 2016 award, we’re delighted to premiere J F L E’s brand new video for Laid To Rest, the first single to be taken from his double-A side of the same name set for release later this year.
Reminiscent of the sounds of Thom Yorke's Atoms For Peace project, Laid To Rest is an energetic record which perfectly matches a complex sound with a healthy pop sensibility – check out the video in the player.
