The View @ Barfly, 22 Oct

Article by sam eccles | 12 Nov 2006

With songs of youthful aggravation and frustration, The View, in accordance with the verdict of their loyal band of Dundonian fans, are truly on fire. One can't help but feel that tonight the jam-packed crowd at Barfly witnessed four young men at their inauguration; at the creation of a punk-filled, savage, beautiful new sound that would never be witnessed again at such an intimate venue. Sweat teemed down the faces of Kyle, Kieren, Pete & Steve, secreted through every chord and tasted in the hysteria of the audience as they bounded amongst each other. Everyone gambolling, jiving, cavorting to the razor sharp melodies and anecdotes of a youthful existence; indulging in the bitter-sweet lyrics injected with punishing accounts and hate for this modern life, and its harsh expectations of the ironically labelled "New Silent Generation". The View… The View… The View are categorically on fire! [Sam Eccles]
