And the award for most appropriate band name goes to… With unfeasibly tight jeans and eardrum shattering Aussie yelping, The Scare barely pause for breath between songs. The intention is undoubtedly to build momentum and prevent people from being deprived of a single moment of their beautiful music. Unfortunately, the effect is that all but their die hard fans are forced into a rapid retreat at the back of the room. Fans of Status Quo will tell you that having all your songs sounding the same is a great thing. Normal people will tell you that's not true, especially when they sound like howling noise. Fortunately, support act Die Die Die fare better. Also adopting the continuous set approach, and almost killing their drummer in the process, the New Zealanders' energy is as infectious as their Rakes-esque tunes.
