The Fratellis @ Barrowlands

Only with the album highlight, which is yet to be released as a single, 'Got Ma Nuts From A Hippy' did they attempt anything new, and it worked superbly

While the hometown crowd went nuts from beginning to end - singing along to most of their ridiculously catchy tunes - the band surprised by having more than enough material to fill just over an hour, it was the trimmings of a decent rock act that were missing. Maybe it was because they are still a relatively new band, maybe it was record company pressures to make sure the fans were happy by playing the songs as they are on the album, but live they didn't do much more than play them in a slightly different order. Live, you expect something more from a band you admire, and the Fratellis certainly gave it their all, but this performance was lacking charisma and creativity. Only with the album highlight, which is yet to be released as a single, 'Got Ma Nuts From A Hippy' did they attempt anything new, and it worked superbly, making this song also the highlight of the concert.
