Slow Motion Replay @ The Ubiquitous Kings of Rhythm & The Unexplainable

An awesome energetic debut performance from Slow Motion Replay

Opening tonight's show were The Unexplainable, aiming to rock out the Subway: they certainly get a few dancing shoes on the floor, especially with their cover of Cameo's Word Up, going down a storm with the ladies in attendance. Next up are the Ubiquitous Kings of Rhythm, a brilliant bluesy four piece, whose gravelly-voiced frontman captures the imagination of the crowd, creating a dark, grimy atmosphere perfect for their unique style of music, quite unlike anything else currently on the Edinburgh scene. Finally, a fantastic first gig for Slow Motion Replay. The band put on an awe-inspiring and energetic debut performance, which was a perfect showcase for an original blend of punk/metal and rock, with the last song of the night making the biggest impact. The boys rock the crowd and leave them chanting for more - an impressive debut. [Karen Taggart]
