Sleater-Kinney @ Oran Mor

A fantastic band who are still going strong entering into their second decade

Punk trio Sleater-Kinney open up with the fiery The Fox, with lead singer Corin Tucker's intense voice dominating the stage and a fair few rows beyond it at Oran Mor. But it's not only Corin that grabs your attention; singer/guitarist Carrie Brownstein clearly has an exceptionally good understanding with her guitar - tonight the girl simply let herself go and did it in the best possible way. Janet Weiss too pounded her skins with might; the three of them all fine musicians in their own right. Current album 'The Woods' singles, Jumpers and Entertain, were given airings as well as classics from previous works such as All Hands on the Bad One's Your No Rock 'N' Roll Fun and I Wanna Be Your Joey Ramone. A phenomenal show on the whole; these girls know what they want to say and exactly how they want to say it. A fantastic band who are still going strong entering into their second decade.
