ShitDisco @ ABC2

From the bedsit to a half-full ABC, Shitdisco's decadent disco inferno normally burns down any party they play at, but tonight manages to ignite in an unexpected setting. All the tunes are there, chaotic and propulsive, with dual bass kicking at the crotches of the small, rabid crowd. Famous for their debauched parties and gigs in muddy disused tunnels, they seem incongruous in the sterile setting of the wipe-clean ABC. Yet, even despite the venue, they rouse the crowd to a frenzy of club-struck disco moshing. No nakedness as per usual, but fully dressed, the ABC erupts when the unhinged house beat starts. A smaller venue is better to capture the Dionysian fury of ShitDisco, but somehow, unexpectedly, they pull it off tonight. [Jasper Hamill]
