Pick of the new bunch and most apt for the evening was Be My Saviour, bringing to mind the life line that the Red Cross provides to so many in need throughout the world

A small but loyal band of Mull Historical Society fans filed into Cabaret Voltaire to catch their hero as he took a break from recording a new album to show his support for the British Red Cross. The expectant mob were first entertained by Burton and Keith, formerly of The Shirking Violet, who brandished twin acoustic guitars and impressed with bright melodic tunes and some darkly contrasting lyrics. Colin McIntyre ensured that the party got into full swing with feather boas, an inflatable spaceman and his cheerful and uplifting songs. The old tracks were greeted with a sing-a-long response and the new ditties promised much for the impending album. Pick of the new bunch and most apt for the evening was Be My Saviour, bringing to mind the life line that the Red Cross provides to so many in need throughout the world. [Dave Reid]
