Ok Go @ The Art School

Do you wanna eat dark chocolate and read 'The Da Vinci Code'? No. I wanna watch OkGo, dance and drink fizzy soda

Fresh from being burned by the boys in blue of Disneyworld (arrested for "intent to take pictures and talk to fans") - not to mention their run in with the rozzers last time they were in Glasgow - Ok Go brought their ultra-pop to the Art School. Projection screens offered paisley-ish patterns of tomorrow mirrored in their vintage irony suits. Offered up were par-for-the-course pop hooks infused with an Americana hip that can only be competently delivered by the overly informed. Do you wanna eat dark chocolate and read 'The Da Vinci Code'? No. I wanna watch Ok Go, dance and drink fizzy soda. In a decade marked by oddball lineups, it's comforting to enjoy a tight-pants foursome strut decent lyrics and simple straight shootin' rock. This particular strut involves a carefully choreographed dance concocted by the singer's sister, performed to their single A Million Ways. What dance? Well, dearest, you're behind the broadband times, since the backyard-shot video of this dance number is the "most downloaded video of all time" (see The Skinny website). [Dave Winton]
