Mikelangelo & The Black Sea Gentlemen (SkinnyFest3)

If ever there was a time for Austrailian polka loving comedy bands, then surely this is it.

Shows like these are few and far between. The one's when music and comedy are on such an equal level of excellence, you confuse your mouth by trying to whistle and laugh at the same time. Well that's the curiously regular occurance to be found within La Gayola over the past few weeks. The ground covered may have been as morbid as Bubonic Plague ('skeletons lying on a beach' anyone?), but the manner with which it is trajected makes it about as gloomy as a gay wedding. Each of the Black Sea Gentleman has a well sketched role to play, but undoubtedly stealing the show is Mikelangelo himself, assuming most of the lead vocal responsibilities, whilst admirably terrifying the audience (granted, mostly the males) and tickling their ribs in nigh on commensurate measures. If ever there was a time for Austrailian polka loving comedy bands, then surely this is it.
