Made-Up Lovesong # 43 got a sudden burst of rapture from the crowd, so there's no doubt they're going to be more recognised soon

Much critical acclaim has been lavished on this band, but before the gig I couldn't even find anyone who knew what they looked like! On stage the Guillemots aren't exactly a riot, as this is pretty melancholy stuff all the way bar a few tunes. This approach did well at drawing the audience in on an emotional level, even if it didn't draw out an ounce of rambunctiousness. And so in this particular venue sitting quietly on the balcony seemed the best place to be; able to properly take in the harmonious wailing vocals, and to get the best sound from the pounding drums on their torch-like songs such as Train To Brazil. Made-Up Lovesong # 43 got a sudden burst of rapture from the crowd, suggestive that they'll no doubt be quite recognisable soon enough. But fans, stop the shoegazing and put in a bit more energy eh?
