Sometimes a mellow song turns into a full-blown rock opera event

Article by Marie Lindstrom | 15 Jul 2006
Some people stand with their arms crossed, some are playing pool in the back and don't really listen at all, and occasionally there is some mild clapping. At times it's hard to judge if the mood is the audience's or the band's fault; raving it is not. Cayto themselves say they play 'experimental rockin'telefunkin magicjazz poonk'. In practice, this means 'an eclectic mix of punkrock, jazz, techno, classical and odd left-field political post-rock. Experimental sums it up quite well - sometimes a mellow song turns into a full-blown rock opera event. They perform some instrument exchanges which always perks up a gig but other than that there are few moments where there is true potential excitement. However, this might not be the band's fault, we were maybe just a rubbish audience. [Marie Lindstrom]
