952 Recordings featuring Redmond and Alan Cranney and The Sound @ Mixing Rooms

proof positive that 952, who packed the venue to its capacity, have the ability to attract a huge following in Glasgow

952 is a new Glasgow record label, set up to promote the best in local based rock and roll. Redmond was up first, playing the howling blues but with the voice of an angel. Soaring melody lines were sung in a smoky Glaswegian accent, sodden with soul. His labelmate, Alan Cranney is a soulful beat-poet, setting his elegant melodies against a rollocking, old school R&B backbeat. His band, which normally features a member of Echo and The Bunnymen on bass, provided an irresistible groove for his voice to scale fantastic melodic peaks. This was proof positive that 952, who packed the venue to its capacity, have the ability to attract a huge following in Glasgow and, with an internet presence and huge-hitters in bands like Dieselbone, seem destined to cut the mustard.
