Much as you might try to ignore the opinions of Rob Da Bank, Jools Holland and other such marmite flavoured irritants, they might just have a point when it comes to The XX. The now three-piece sandwich in some UK shows between a European jaunt and an appearance at Matt Groening’s ATP in May. The South London outfit’s stark, melancholic pop has seen them placed on many a ‘ones to watch’ list for 2010; tracks such as Basic Space, Crystalised and Islands from their eponymous debut effectively show off their dual voiced, minimalist style with an electronic edge.
