The Psychedelic Furs @ O2 ABC, 29 Oct

Forever immortalised by the John Hughes film of the same name, Pretty in Pink became the best known (and to most the only known) release of The Psychedelic Furs, even though they would remain an active and even chart-bothering presence up until the early nineties.

The track just so happens to be on their 1981 album Talk Talk Talk, which they will be playing in full as a special “treat” on this tour. Nice, safe, new wave with the odd catchy chorus, they haven’t aged quite so gracefully as Public Image Limited, but then again they aren’t selling butter either. Yet. [Oisín Kealy]
