T-3 (SkinnyFest2)

Look out for the stadia sets, with rock-giants Muse bumrushing Meadowbank.

T on the Fringe is in full swing with the penultimate week of festivities now in sight. The Best of T Break rollicks through town on the 19th, introducing the freshest in new unsigned talent at The Liquid Room. If you missed the T Break calendar earlier this year, here's a second chance to catch the cream of the crop.

Larger shows this week include Editors' live set at the Corn Exchange on the 21st, which will take the sting out of that Monday feeling. Last year's prequel at Cabaret Voltaire sent tongues wagging in certain circles, and the band's trajectory has continued on the up to stellar heights. More gloomy indie goodness from 2005's Mercury Music Prize nominees.

Brighton fourpiece The Upper Room play to a packed room on the 22nd. Cab Vol has sold out their allocation of tickets. Their fame and acclaim is on the rise, thanks to MySpace subscribed interest, and widespread music press support. Corn Exchange next year lads?

The White Stripes' Jack White brings his not-so-side-project The Racounteurs to Edinburgh, gigging on the 23rd at the Corn Exchange. Brendan Benson is among the collaborators, rounded out by two thirds of the Greenhornes, promising an unmissable highlight of this year's T.

The next day, Corn Exchange also plays host to Geordie punk-rockers Maxïmo Park, flying through town before they jet off to support The Rolling Stones on their Scandinavian tour. So it's a tough choice, as they're pitted against the anthemic sound rock-giants Muse, who also play Meadowbank on the 24th, with support from New Jersey alt-rockers My Chemical Romance.

Russian-born, New York-based Regina Spektor (see our feature) returns to T for a second consecutive year, playing Liquid Room on the 20th. This is her only August date outside of London and weekender festivals. She's another graduate of the Cabaret Voltaire School of Fringe Festival Induction.

Also at the Cab, established artist Maria McKee plays a rare intimate set on the 23rd. It's for those of you among us who remember and treasure the 1990's hit Show Me Heaven to end week 3 of T on the Fringe on a nostalgic tip.
T on the fringe runs at venues across Edinburgh until Aug 30
