Scottish Live Music Highlights: June 2026
It's another packed month in Scotland's gig venues, which spills over into outdoor shows in Glasgow, and the returns of Hidden Door, Eden, and Glasgow Jazz Festival
Air out your tent, festival season is in full swing! Eden Festival (11-14 Jun) returns to the Raehills Meadows in Dumfries & Galloway, with hip-hop royalty Chali 2na, British-Jamaican reggae artist Julian Marley and Malian singer, songwriter and guitarist Vieux Farka Touré at the top of the bill. Or check out Solas Festival (19-21 Jun) in Perthshire's Errol Park, featuring a stack of homegrown talent like Adam Holmes, Becky Sikasa, Zoe Graham, Rachel Sermani, Bee Asha and loads more.
If the thought of camping is too much for you, festival vibes are strong in the central belt this month too. Hidden Door (3-7 Jun) takes over The Paper Factory in Edinburgh for a second time with Jenny Hval, Lauren Auder, Cowboy Hunters, Azamiah, Makeness, Taupe and Tinderbox Collective set to play alongside a massive visual arts programme. On 20 June, trad festival The Reeling sets up shop at the Royal Highland Centre for the first time with Breabach, Dlù, Dougie MacLean, Elephant Sessions, Kinnaris Q, Skipinnish.
In Glasgow, the Glasgow Jazz Festival (10-14 Jun) returns for its 40th edition with a specially curated programme of 40 performances celebrating the city’s penchant for jazz. Highlights include Fergus McCreadie’s Flight Pass (Mackintosh Church, 12 Jun), the Homegrown Showcase at Old Fruitmarket (13 Jun) featuring Kai Reesu, GAÏA, Pippa Blundell and Sekoya and New Jazzwegians (14 Jun), also at Old Fruitmarket and part of the Commonwealth Games Festival, featuring Azamiah, Nathan Somevi Trio, Sonedo and Unoma Okudo. For that Big Festival Feel head to Glasgow Green for TRNSMT (19-21 Jun) with big hitters like CMAT, Wolf Alice, The Beta Band, English Teacher, The Last Dinner Party, Loyle Carner and more on the bill.
At the end of the month, the Music Venue Trust is uniting the country in celebration of grassroots venues with Everywhere At Once (26-28 Jun), “the UK’s biggest festival on your doorstep”. With venues across Scotland set to celebrate, turn to p39 to find out more.
Beyond the festivals, Scottish folk singer and multi-instrumentalist Julie Fowlis plays shows in Inverness (5 Jun), Stirling (6 Jun), Aberdeen (9 Jun), Dundee (11 Jun), Perth (12 Jun) and Edinburgh (13 Jun), Twin Atlantic play Stirling (9 Jun), Edinburgh (10 Jun) and Aberdeen (11 Jun) and Mull Historical Society take In My Mind There’s a Photograph out for a spin in Stirling (11 Jun), Glasgow (12 Jun) and Edinburgh (13 Jun).
In Edinburgh, SHEARS and Shuna Lovella play Lounge 33 (3 Jun), Dara Dubh previews her new album at the Bruntsfield Pianodromme (5 Jun), Bicycle Trip launch Losers at The Banshee Labyrinth (6 Jun) and DOSS bring the doss e.p. to Leith FAB Cricket Club (14 Jun). In Glasgow, Radhika launches Cine-Pop at Mono (5 Jun), Fatherson celebrate ten years of Open Book at the Barrowlands, Brownbear performs What Is Home? and Demons in full at Saint Luke’s (6 Jun), Casual Drag headline The Art School (12 Jun), pedalo launch Delicate Thing at King Tut’s (13 Jun), Jo Mango launches The Lightswitch at Saint Luke’s (26 Jun) and Belle and Sebastian play a pair of shows at the Kelvingrove Bandstand (26 & 27 Jun), celebrating 1996 debut Tigermilk and its follow-up If You’re Feeling Sinister respectively.
There’s big touring energy this month too. In Glasgow catch Aldous Harding (Kelvingrove Bandstand, 3 Jun), Princess Nokia (The Art School, 10 Jun), The B-52s (Barrowlands, 18 Jun), Robyn (OVO Hydro, 26 Jun) and Alanis Morissette (Bellahouston Park, 30 Jun), while in Edinburgh seek out Cupcakke (La Belle Angele, 3 Jun), Los Campesinos! (The Liquid Room, 6 Jun), Kraftwerk (Edinburgh Playhouse, 9 Jun) and Ethel Cain (Usher Hall, 28 Jun).
