Skinny Pelembe @ Sneaky Pete's, 19 Sep
The Doncaster-raised, Johannesburg-born singer-songwriter Skinny Pelembe is set to release his latest EP, Sleep More, Make More Friends, on 21 September via Brownswood Recordings. Ahead of its release, catch him tonight at Sneaky's with support from Lunir. Pelembe also plays The Hug & Pint, Glasgow, 18 Sep.

Fiesta Poco @ Banshee Labyrinth, 19 Sep
If Japanese hardcore is your thing then 100% head along to Banshee Labyrinth tonight for a double helping from Friendship and PALM, with a dollop of Kurokuma and Insufferable on the side. Basically, if you want to seriously let off some steam this week then this undoubtedly is the night for you.

Book Group @ Sneaky Pete's, 21 Sep
Edinburgh's Book Group play Sneaky's tonight (thanks to the team at Off Axis) and are promising new songs. If that's not enough to prise you out of your couch, then The Lutras and Be Like Pablo are also playing promising three hours of fun.

Slow Blood @ Henry's Cellar Bar, 21 Sep
To help celebrate the launch of their debut EP, EP1, Edinburgh "goth nerds" Slow Blood play Henry's Cellar Bar tonight for a good ol' gothic knees up. Support comes from the decidedly less gothic Golden Arm and slightly screamo Regretta Garbo, the latter featuring ex-members of Meursault and jesus h. foxx.

Mull Historical Society @ Pleasance, 21 Sep
Today marks the release of Colin MacIntyre's latest release as Mull Historical Society, Wakelines, which "finds MacIntyre in a nostalgic mood and looking back." Catch him tonight at the Pleasance Cabaret Bar, or the night before at Hug & Pint, Glasgow, 20 Sep.

Wendell Borton @ Safari Lounge, 22 Sep
The Glasgow-based three-piece, Wendell Borton are set to release their latest AA side (Changing Room / The Pain) on 24 September via Milenci Records. Ahead of its arrival, the slacker pop trio play Safari Lounge tonight, for tireless promoters City of Glass, with support from Star Rover and Nice Church. Central Belters @ Sneaky Pete's, 23 Sep
A belter of a night with a belter of a name, Sneaky Pete's latest gig series Central Belters is showcasing the best new bands from Edinburgh and Glasgow and in between, presented with help from PRS Foundation. Tonight features Savage Mansion, Happy Spendy and Yung KP. Belter.

This is the first time Shania’s toured on this side of the world in 13 years, so you don’t want to miss it.

Mitski @ Saint Luke's, 20 Sep
Mitski’s latest album, Be the Cowboy is an absolute triumph; there are no two ways about it and we’re completely obsessed. From the eerie opening of Geyser to the country-tinged Lonsesome Love via the disco-infused Why Didn't You Stop Me? and the funk-riddled Nobody, it’s a total stunner and we can’t wait to catch her in the glorious surrounds of Glasgow’s Saint Luke’s. Bring your tissues and your dancing shoes; trust us, you’ll need both!

Return the Videotapes @ Stereo, 21 Sep
Art organisation Broken Grey Wires put on exhibitions and events with the aim to raise awareness and create a safe space to discuss mental health. Tonight they're bringing Return the Videotapes to Stereo with an impressive line-up to boot featuring Richard Dawson, David Thomas Broughton, Sweaty Palms and Dead Houses, plus DJ sets from Lazy Susan, Madam X and Junky Nurse.

Pale Waves @ SWG3, 21 Sep
It's been quite the year for Manchester four-piece Pale Waves who kicked off proceedings on the BBC Sound of 2018 shortlist. A week on from releasing their debut album, My Mind Makes Noises, catch them tonight at SWG3.

52Girls @ The Poetry Club, 21 Sep
52Girls is a bi-monthly night in London, now also at The Poetry Club in Glasgow, which aims to bring together a space for women, femmes, non-binary people and allies to bring empowerment to the foreground. The event aims to celebrate women’s exploration of music and women in music. Everyone is welcome. Guest DJs and artists tonight are Spite House, Hairband, Ruby Waters and Sycophantasy, with 100% of the profit from the night going to the Rape Crisis Centre Glasgow.
