Down the Front: Bruce Springsteen returns to Hampden

Under a blistering sun, The Boss took the Hampden hordes on a characteristically epic nostalgia tour of his 1980 blue collar rock opusĀ The River this past Wednesday (1 June).

Rather than play it straight, he shuffled and interspersed the album's 20 tracks with covers and classics from all corners of the E Street Band catalogue. As ever, the crowd influenced several of his song choices.

Here's what our photographer Kate Johnston caught of the action from Springsteen and his E Street Band.
