John Wick: Chapter 3 trailer - Keanu Reeves is back

Yeah, there are new films from Terrence Mallick, Martin Scorsese and Claire Denis due this year, but there’s also Keanu Reeves riding a horse through New York dispatching bad guys with ease in the first trailer for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum. Kicking off right where Chapter 2 left off, this final installment of the stylish franchise sees Reeves’ eponymous hitman ex-communicated from the underground community of assassins he’s a part of, and a hefty price put on his head for anyone who’s game enough to take him out.

The first trailer for Chapter 3, directed once again by Chad Stahelski, suggests this film will be as beautiful and violent as we’ve come to expect from the series. We find John Wick in New York and on the run with every assassin in the vicinity on his tail, although anyone who’s seen the first two films knows it takes a lot to take him down.

Wick’s back is against the wall, but he still has a few friends on his side. A twinkling Ian McShane, proprietor of the Continental Hotel, the home away from home when elite assassins visit New York, is certainly rooting for Wick. “A 14 million dollar bounty on his head, and everyone in the city wants a piece of it; I’d say the odds are about even.” Laurence Fishburne is also back as crime lord Bowery King, while Anjelica Huston joins the franchise alongside Halle Berry, who seems to be a close friend of the enigmatic assassin and a fellow badass. Also popping up in this first trailer is Jerome Flynn (of Game of Thrones fame) and some cool dogs.
