Stargate Atlantis: Season Three

Just not mature enough.

Film title: Stargate Atlantis: Season Three
Everyone's seen Battlestar Galactica right? Edgy, brutal, smart sci-fi....Stargate spin-off Atlantis? Not a fan? Well me neither. In fact I wasn't sure what to expect from the Series Three DVD. As it transpires Atlantis seems to be set in a weird warehouse which has an interior reminiscent of a cross between an STV newsroom and a badly decorated leisure centre. Periodically the glazed, linguistically dull, monotone crew of this space barn go for jaunts to alien worlds which look like gaudy ethnic restaurants. Clichéd trouble inevitably ensues, chiefly with a bad bunch of chaps called the Wraiths. The space battles can at times look impressive for the small screen, but it's just not mature enough to keep your attention. Still I suppose as long as there's Stargate Atlantis there will be a demand for army surplus clothing. [Chris Hammond]
