Nanny McPhee

Film Review by Graham McIntosh | 17 Mar 2006
Film title: Nanny McPhee

This magical family film proved to be the surprising hit of last winter. Emma Thompson plays the ugly yet charming magic Nanny looking after seven uncontrollable hellions, with Colin Firth as their father, struggling to cope with becoming a widower. Also featuring Celia Imrie and Angela Lansbury as the camped-up baddies of the piece, the best aspect of this film is that it doesn't pander to the kiddies, but presents them with a story they will enjoy as do the big kids. You'll find yourself getting more involved in the story than you originally thought, and it's well worth it! [Graham McIntosh]
