Kendrick Lamar to headline Glasgow Summer Sessions

The Compton rapper is set for his debut Scottish outdoor show this August, following a raucous sell-out gig at the Hydro this week

Did you miss out on tickets for Kendrick Lamar's blockbusting, five-star show at the Hydro this weekend? Or are you keen for a second encounter with the seemingly-unstoppable Compton rapper responsible for our writers' favourite album of 2017? Either way, your luck is in, as Kung Fu Kenny will return to Glasgow this summer to headline a Glasgow Summer Sessions show at Bellahouston Park.

The gig on Wednesday 29 August will be the first Scottish outdoor show for K.Dot, whose soundtrack for Marvel's Afrofuturist epic Black Panther was released last week. The announcement comes after the Top Dawg rapper was confirmed as one of the headliners for this year's Reading and Leeds festivals, and it's the second enormous hip-hop booking for GSS in as many years; last year saw Eminem roll into town joined by Danny Brown and Run the Jewels, read our review of Glasgow Summer Sessions 2017 here.
