Manchester Psych Fest returns for its fifth edition this September, with all-male Dublin noise-rockers Girl Band chief among the first wave of announcements. London-formed psych quartet Bo Ningen and college rock faves Menace Beach are also lined up to appear in the city's Northern Quarter this autumn.

Taking place across three venues – Band on the Wall, the Night & Day Cafe and Soup Kitchen – on Saturday 2 September, the bill also stars macabre post-punkers Evil Blizzard, melodic nu-gazers Sulk and Wigan's premier analogue surf act, TVAM. Heavenly Recordings' rising stars Britain, ethereal qartet Mother and the spectral songcraft of Inland Taipan complete the initial line-up, alongside DJs from retro clubnight Electric Jug, with more acts yet to be unveiled and a range of art installations and "trippy visuals" also promised.

Tickets are available now, priced from £12.50.
