Edinburgh Summer Sessions 2019: CHVRCHES, Primal Scream & more
CHVRCHES, Primal Scream and Florence + the Machine are among the seven acts announced for Edinburgh Summer Sessions 2019 in Prince Street Gardens
Edinburgh Summer Sessions, the now-annual outdoor gig season organised by DF Concerts, heads back to Princes Street Gardens this summer (7-18 Aug) with another line-up of big name acts heading to the capital.
Kicking off the season with back-to-back shows on 7 and 8 August is indie-pop favourites Florence + the Machine. Also likely to get a warm welcome when they take to the Ross Bandstand, beneath the shadow of Edinburgh Castle, will be much-loved Glasgow synth-pop trio CHVRCHES, making a return to Edinburgh on 11 August. Another legendary Glasgow band, Primal Scream, play on 10 August, sharing the bill with former Smiths multi-instrumentalist Johnny Marr.
There’s sure to be plenty of mass singalongs in Princes Street Gardens when James take the stage on 15 August. Rounding out the line-up are the ever-popular indie lads Courteeners on 16 August and the baggy trouser antics of 80s faves Madness on 18 August.
