Festival Watch: T in the Park revealed, Secret Garden Party, Standon Calling and more

The lineup announcement for Scotland's biggest and longest-running music festival, T in the Park (11-13 Jul), was made yesterday, with already-revealed headliners Paolo Nutini and the Arctic Monkeys to be joined by Calvin Harris, Biffy Clyro and Pharrell Williams on the main stage.

Elsewhere, this year's event, taking place once more in Balado in Kinross, will welcome an indie, folk and rock contingent including The Twilight Sad, the Pixies, Franz Ferdinand, Kaiser Chiefs, Haim, You Me At Six, Manic Street Preachers, Maximo Park, Elbow, James, Bombay Bicycle Club, Twin Atlantic, The 1975, Imagine Dragons, Ben Howard, Embrace, Passenger, The Rifles, The Stranglers, Metronomy, Tame Impala, Kodaline, Inspiral Carpets and We Are Scientists. 

On the electronic and hip-hop side of things, acts announced so far include CHVRCHES, Disclosure, Dave Clarke, Carl Craig, Example, Clean Bandit, Tinie Tempah, Above & Beyond, London Grammar, Sven Vath, Newton Faulkner, Chance The Rapper, Slam, Steve Angello, Alesso, Len Faki, Rudimental, Pan-Pot, Julio Bashmore, Levon Vincent, and George Fitzgerald. Pop music fans meanwhile have a lot to choose from, with sets from Ed Sheeran, Ellie Goulding, Bastille, John Newman, Katy B, Nina Nesbitt, and Sam Smith. Down at the Secret Garden Party (24-27 Jul), taking place in Abbots Ripton near Huntingdon, and featuring a theme (this year's is Goodbye Yellow Brick Road) and "diverse merriments," they have added Wolf Alice, Superfood and The Amazing Snakeheads to the bill, which already includes Skinny favourites Honeyblood, Deap Vally, Morcheeba and others. Meanwhile Standon Calling (1-3 Aug), which takes place in Hertfordshire, has an indie-focused lineup on offer, with recent additions Maximo Park and Frank Turner joining Clean Bandit, Peace, TOY, The Heavy and many otheres – full details and tickets here.

And finally Croatia's Dimensions Festival (28-31 Aug), who have Jon Hopkins, Caribou and Darkside live as their headliners, will be launching a series of warm-up parties around the US and Europe to whet the appetites of potential festival-goers – they will hit 53 cities in 21 countries, including Glasgow institution the Sub Club, at a date yet to be confirmed. They will also visit Edinburgh's The Caves on 2 July for the NotSoSilent crew, with guests to be confirmed for that event. They will visit Sankeys in Manchester on 30 May to join the Selective Hearing crew, and also Liverpool, with details of a date, venue and lineup still to be announced.
