Festival Watch: Outkast to reunite for Coachella 2014

Article by News Team | 09 Jan 2014

The lineup for this year's Coachella Festival (11-13 & 18-20 Apr) was announced this week, the big news being that Atlanta rap duo Outkast have reformed to headline the event, alongside Arcade Fire. Outkast formed in 1992, and released 7 albums, the last of which – 2006's Idlewild – achieved platinum status. In 2012, Big Boi released a solo album via Def Jam (we spoke to the man here), and collaborated with Run The Jewels on 36" Chain. Andre 3000 collaborated with Gorillaz and other artists in 20102. News of their reunion will no doubt delight hip-hop fans worldwide.

Playing alongside the headliners are a veritable who's who of rock, indie, hip-hop and electronic royalty, including The Knife, Queens of the Stone Age, Pharrell Williams, MGMT, Fatboy Slim, Nas, Factory Floor, Nicolas Jaar's DARKSIDE, Beck, Disclosure, Bryan Ferry, and The Afghan Whigs. Representing Scotland are CHVRCHES, Mogwai, and Calvin Harris. See the full lineup here.
