This year's Bestival (4-7 Sep) theme is 'Desert Island Disco,' in a follow-up to last year's nautical theme. In a statement puboished on the festival's site, they elaborate on the theme, mentioning tribesmen, shipwrecks and (of course) a giant disco ball washed ashore. The first headliners announced for this year's event are Atlata rap duo Outkast. Check the lineup here as more artists are announced, and buy tickets here.

Outkast will also play Wireless Festival (4-6 July), which is expanding for 2014 to take place in two locations, with the bill swapping over in the manner of Reading / Leeds. As well as taking place in London, the festival will make its debut in Birmingham this year. Initially confirmed for the mainstream-focused, major-label reliant, pop and chart-oriented lineup are Kanye West, Drake, Ellie Goulding, Pharrell Williams, Basement Jaxx, Wiz Khalifa, Chance The Rapper, A$AP Ferg, and Earl Sweatshirt, among others. In Scotland, this year's Solas Festival (20-22 Jun) will once again welcome a wealth of homegrown talent, including Stanley Odd, Beerjacket, Hector Bizerk, Randolph’s Leap, Call To Mind, Woodenbox and Jo Mango have been confirmed, as well as comedian Josie Long.
