Festival Watch: Happy Mondays and The Orb for Beat Herder, Groove Armada for Zoo Project

Two summer festivals new to these posts have just announced their lineups for 2014 – Beat Herder (18-20 Jul), taking place in The Robble Valley in Lancashire, is back for it's eighth year in a row, have confirmed a legend-packed retro bill, with The Orb and Happy Mondays as headliners, alongside kitsch disco legends Boney M., French techno don Vitalic, genre-bender Mr. Scruff, plus Timo Maas, Utah Saints, Dub Pistols, and Goldie Lookin' Chain, among others. Mr. Scruff is one of the artists playing this year's Zoo Project (12-14 Sep) as well – in addition to the Ninja Tune deck-wrangler, there will also be appearances from kings of the laidback house vibes, Groove Armada and Steve Lawler, intinerant dubstep producer Mala, plus a wealth of electronic talent past, present and future, including, A Guy Called Gerald, Ben UFO back to back with Midland, DJ E.A.S.E., DJ Falcon, Drew Hill, James Zabiela, Nightmares On Wax presents... Wax Da Jam, Paul Woolford, Pedestrian, Phaeleh, Ricky Ranking, and Shy FX with Stamina MC. Check out the full lineup and get tickets here. The organisers promise "OTT hedonism and indulged debauchery mixed with a carnivalesque vibe" in the surrounds of the secluded Donington Park Forest.
