Festival Watch: Fuck Buttons, Kurt Vile, and Swans join ATP Iceland

Article by News Team | 15 Jan 2014

The bill for ATP Iceland (10-12 July) keeps getting better – joining already-announced headliners Portishead and Interpol will be an impressive selection of bands from across the musical spectrum, starting with experimental techno voyagers Fuck Buttons. Alongside the duo, whose latest LP was voted our album of 2013, the magisterial Slow Focus, the festival will welcome Kurt Vile (whose Wakin' On A Pretty Daze was another highlight of last year), and Michael Gira's post-hardcore missionaries Swans (we were also great admirers of 2012's The Seer).

Also announced for the Icelandic festival are Tri-Angle's crepuscular doom-merchant and sonic architect The Haxan Cloak, his label-mate Forest Swords, and the ATP Recordings-signed Eaux. Already named for the bill are SóleyFor a Minor ReflectionSamarisLow Roar and Mammút. Tickets are selling fast for the sole ATP-curated festival happening this year, with Earlybird options all but sold out. Details and tickets available here
