Festival Watch: EXIT, Y Not, Big Day In

The EXIT Festival (1013 Jul) in Serbia have added some more electronic artists to their already-packed roster, focusing on a series of 'back-to-back specials' spearheaded by Carl Cox with a lineup of his high-profile guest DJ pals dropping in for sets, including Cox himself squaring off against Danny Tenaglia, Ben Klock vs. Marcel Dettmann, Eats Everything vs. Cassy, and a live set from Luke Slater's Planetary Assault Systems. The Y Not Festival (1-3 Aug), taking place in the Peak District, have confirmed some new names for their bill - with headliners Dizzee Rascal, White Lies and Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls heading up the event, they will also welcome Razorlight, Shed Seven, Ella Eyre, Swim Deep, Circa Waves, DZ Deathrays, Amber Run and others. Meanwhile, Edinburgh has confirmed another 1-day 'in the city' showcase in the form of Big Day In (20 April) at the Electric Circus, with a raft of up-and-coming Scottish bands on the slate, including Roman Nose, Birdhead, Indian Red Lopez, Miracle Strip, Gymnast, and Carbs, with support from the TYCI DJs, Glasgow Podcart DJs, and the Kitchen Disco DJs.
