Festival Watch: East India Youth and Honeyblood for Stag & Dagger, plus additions to Field Day and The Great Escape

Glasgow's Stag and Dagger (4 May), the one day in-the-city festival, have unveiled a second wave of artists for their 2014 outing – East India Youth, Forest Swords, Honeyblood, Jungle, The Districts and Phox have all been announced this week, joining a lineup which already includes Albert Hammond Jr., Los Campesinos!, The Hold Steady and Lanterns on the Lake. Some Glastonbury (25-29 Jun) news in brief – Warpaint have confirmed an appearance at the festival, joining a bill headed up by Arcade Fire. Also confirmed are Lily Allen and Stanton Warriors, with a huge selection of bands still to be announced for the already-sold-out festival.

London's Field Day (7-8 Jun) have this week confirmed an appearance from Neneh Cherry, playing tracks from her critically acclaimed new Four Tet-produced album Blank Project. She joins the lineup for the Saturday of the event, alongside Daniel Avery and Errol Alkan back to back, Metronomy, Warpaint, SBTRKT and others. The Sunday lineup has yet to be announced. Bestival (4-7 Sep) will be welcoming a triumphant Nile Rodgers & Chic to their event this year – they join a lineup which includes Beck, Foals, CHVRCHES, Busta Rhymes and Outkast. Details and tickets here

The Somersault Festival (17-21 Jul) is a new venture happening in North Somerset, and for their inaugural outing they will be playing host to Amadou & Mariam, Ninja Tune crooner Fink, Crowns, Neil Halstead and Nick Mulvey, who join already-announced headliners Jack Johnson and Ben Howard. And finally, Brighton's The Great Escape (8-10 May) have added a whopping 150 more artists to their bill - this in-the-city showcase festival will now welcome Jon Hopkins, Albert Hammond Jr., Augustines, Jimi Goodwin, East India Youth, Wild Beasts, These New Puritans, Casual Sex, Girl Band and RM Hubbert, among a huge wave of up-and-coming bands.
