Festival Watch: BBK Bilbao, Pukkelpop, Liverpool Sound City, Blissfields and more

The vast Bilbao BBK Festival (10-12 Jul) this week confirmed The Prodigy as a headliner – also added to the bill for 2014 are Dawes, Skaters and Parquet Courts, joining a lineup which already includes The Black Keys, Franz Ferdinand, MGMT, White Lies, Foster the People and others. Belgium's Pukkelpop (14-16 Aug) meanwhile now have their full lineup confirmed, including Die Antwoord, Cat Empire, Disclosure, Editors, The National, Kavinsky, Deafheaven, Snoop Dogg, Queens of the Stone Age, Portishead and many more. Back in the UK, Liverpool Sound City (1-3 May) now has its full lineup confirmed – some of the 75 new additions include Jagwar Ma, Public Service Broadcasting, East India Youth, Bipolar Sunshine, Blood Red Shoes, Pins, Glass AnimalsBird, Factory Floor, Ratking, Say Lou Lou and Sunshine Underground, plus many more, joining a bill that already includes Jon Hopkins, Kodaline, and Fuck Buttons. Details and tickets here. Taking place in Hampshire near Winchester, Blissfields (4-5 Jul) have unveiled an impressive first wave of acts this week - they will welcome 2manydjs, Sleigh Bells, Hercules & Love Affair, Chloe Howl, tUnE-yArDs, Dan Croll, and Nick Mulvey, among others. Details and tickets here.

The Elsewhere Festival (2-3 May) in London's Hackney also announced its bill this week – they welcome The Streets' Mike Skinner, Actress, Floating Points, Doc Daneeka, Ryan Hemsworth and Snakehips, among others. More details to be found here. The folk behind London's Field Day (7-8 Jun) have also announced a series of warm-up parties in Europe in the run-up to their event - on 24 April in Turin, Italy they will showcase Jon Hopkins, SOHN, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Hiroshima Mon Amour. A couple of late additions for Sonisphere (4-6 Jul) – the metal-oriented festival will now also welcome Gary Numan, Band of Skulls, Gallows, Carcass, New Model Army, 65daysofstatic, Sebastian Bach, Anti Nowhere League, and Bam Margera's Fuckface Unstoppable, alongside previously-announced artists Deftones, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Alice in Chains, Mastodon and others. Details and tickets here.
