April Fools Festival 2009

Te POOKa, the performing arts charity, will hold the April Fools Festival for the next two weeks (1 April – 14 April) at the Big Red Door in Edinburgh. The festival offers day and evening events, from the more conventional acoustic night to a wacky lunchtime workshop in circus arts. The programme is broadly aimed at adults who try not to take life too seriously and would like to try something different.

The lunchtime activities will feed your appetite but also your brain, with a short tutorial  in circus arts involving juggling and stilt walking. Prefer something more relaxed? Why not try the charity-style clothes and books swap, or the painting class that will cause giggles or nightmares thanks to the circus clown models (and there's a bar nearby to help bring out your inner artist).

The evening events enjoy a more relaxed and intimate atmosphere with acoustic, film and storytelling nights from local artists, and once more a bar to help you unwind from a hard day at work.

If you're tired of your traditional day and evening activities and want to attempt something unusual, then the April Fools Festival looks set to be a creative but fun alternative that you'd do well to investigate.

Ticket Prices vary from £2 - £7. More information is available at the te POOKa website.
